The "EYES" Have It!
Welcome and thank you for visiting. You wouldn't be here if you did not want to make a difference in someones life. There are millions of people in this country and around the world who do not have access to eyeglasses due to reasons including financial. With poor vision it is difficult to function in society and at home. It keeps people from gainful employment and being able to enjoy everyday things that those with good vision might take for granted. When you can't see well, it's difficult to perform simple functions such as getting dressed and preparing food. Daily hygiene issues become insurmountable.
I have had poor vision since being a very small child and went without glasses until I was 8 years old. It wasn't until then that I realized grass was made up of single blades. I am fortunate to live in a country with wonderful employers that help pay for my health insurance. I don't know how I would have been able to afford all the pairs of glasses I have received over the years.
I want to be able to help others receive the gift of good eyesight.
So this is my mission:
I would like with your help to be able to donate 500 pairs of glasses in one year. I would like to do this by asking that if you have any glasses you do not use anymore, prescription, reading and sunglasses, both adults and children, please send them to the nearest Lions Club . Yet another way to get these glasses to a donation site is by dropping them at any Lions Club donation site. You can look up their donation locations here, they have offices all around the country. If you choose to drop them off at a Lions location please come back and email me the city where you dropped them and how many pairs. That way I will be able to account for how many pairs have been donated so we will know when we have met our goal, (although after we have met the goal, I will continue to collect glasses for the needy). If the glasses need light repairs that is ok.
The clinics in Africa that will receive many of these glasses as donations are called "Joy Clinics" by those they serve. The people who receive these glasses are very grateful for these clinics and the volunteers that work in them along with those of you who donate the glasses, because without you, there would be no eyeglasses for them.
Please join me in this campaign to bring clear vision to 500 people. Ask your friends, family, little leagues, co-workers, local hotels, (they sometimes have glasses in their lost and found that have gone unclaimed). We can do this! Please let others know about this website and campaign and lets prove we can do this.
If you have any questions please email me at sbraill111@gmail.com
Thank you all so much for visiting and just remember The "EYES" Have It!
